I’d also like to thank cartoonists Polly Keener, Guy Gilchrist, Wes Alexander, Rob Smith and others who are churning out comic creations each day for DBR Media.. Their dedication and efforts help make DBR Media the wonderful syndicate it is.

About 25 years ago, when I was first starting to develop comic strips, I had a chance meeting with cartoonist Mike Peters. I showed him my artwork and, without missing a beat, he told me quite passionately, “Get a syndicate!”

All these years later, I finally have to come to understand what he was really saying. He wasn’t telling me to find a distribution company that would send my cartoons out to newspapers. No. What he meant was: find a syndicate, an editor, a group of people who believed in my cartoon work as much as I did. People who would see the humor and the delight in my cartoon drawings as much as I did. And I found that editor and that group of syndicate people. Diane Eckert, Brad Elson and Bryon Elson of DBR Media, Inc. Diane and all the talented, dedicated people at DBR Media have given me this great opportunity to draw cartoons and establish my cartooning career. Diane and DBR believe in my comic strip George and

all my comic creations as much, even more so, than I. They see its potential and ability to entertain readers. And they understand how much of a struggle it is to make it in this profession and steadfastly stand by me. And for this, I am forever grateful.

So, in the same way, I say to you , whoever you are reading this, “Get a syndicate!” Because if you find the right syndicate, the right editor, and an organization that truly believes in your artwork, wonderful things can happen to your cartoons and your cartooning career.
