This book represents some of the best cartoon artwork he and his son Chip produced! I don’t think there’s anyone better at creating a complex shape or character with just a few lines. Art was an incredibly versatile cartoonist and artist and did every kind of cartoon work (Adventure Strips, Sci-fi strips, humor strips, etc.) throughout his career. Born Loser book collections are definitely worth having in your studio. These Born Loser books can be found on Ebay or Amazon.com or at your local library. They are worth finding and reading and studying. You can learn volumes studying Art Sansom’s cartoon art! Chip Sansom, Art’s son, carries on the the cartooning and writing duties of The Born Loser today. Chip definitely has his father’s artistic style down. If you can’t find any of these book collections, a great alternative is to simply clip The Born Loser from the paper each day and save each strip for future reference. I did this for years with The Born Loser, B.C., Peanuts, Hagar, Hi and Lois, The Lockhorns, Miss Peach and many other comic strips and panels.
