For drawing my comic strip, I use a 2 ply vellum bristol board. This is a nice quality paper with a bit of a tooth (roughness) so the pencil and pens don’t slip and slide too much. Most cartoonists prefer a bristol board with a plate (smooth) finish. But I find this surface to be just too slick for my tastes.

I buy the bristol board in 11” x 14” pads of 15 to 20 sheets per pad and then cut the sheets into 5 inch strips. So the size of my comic strip paper is 5” x 14”. The actual size I draw the strip is 4” x 13”.

For
Double Take and Word Pile, I use a good 24 lb., 8.5” x 11” Inkjet quality paper. I usually buy 500 sheet packs. This paper, again, has a nice finish with a bit of a tooth and holds pen and marker ink very well. I use the paper for everything from doing cartoon panels to stationery and personal letters. It’s very versatile.
